Not only does this event have exclusive field research tasks for you to complete, but there is also the Charge Up! research quest. Since this is a timed research quest though, you need to ensure you complete it before the event ends. Charge Up! also sees the release of Tynamo, along with its evolutions, from Gen 5, the Therian Forme for Thundurus and the Mega Evolution for Manectric. On this page: It’s important to remember that this is a timed research quest, so it will only be available during the Charge Up! event itself. It will vanish forever once the event ends, taking its rewards with it, so, if you’re after a specific reward, make sure you earn it before the event ends. Thank you to SilphScience from reddit for the help with this information! Charge Up! sees the release of Tynamo and it’s evolutions - Eelektrik and Eelektross - bringing us closer to a complete Gen 5 Pokédex. Tynamo will be available in the wild, alongside other electric-type Pokémon like Electrike and Stunfisk, and in one-star raids, where you’ll also be able to battle Voltorb, Shinx, Blitzle and Klink. You’ll also be able to fight Alolan Raichu, Alolan Graveler, Magneton and Ampharos in three-star raids. While, best of all, the Therian Forme for Thundurus will make its debut in five-star raids. Remember - you can use a Remote Raid pass to enter raids from whether you may be! The Mega Evolution for Manectric will also be seeing its first appearance in Mega Raids during this week. You’ll also be able to battle Mega Houndoom and Abomasnow during the event, making it the perfect time to collect the Mega Candy you need to add these Pokémon to your Mega Pokédex if you haven’t done so already. Finally, a number of electric-type Pokémon will be available from 5km eggs collected during the event, including:
Pichu Elekid Electrike Shinx Joltik Tynamo Stunfisk
All of these electric-type Pokémon will also bring you close to the platinum level for the electric-type medal!
The Season of Mythical Wishes continues with the Winter Holiday event, which has brought Mega Glalie to Pokémon Go. Don’t forget to partake in the new Go Battle League season.
Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres.
Both the Charge Up! timed research and field research tasks are only available during the event, which runs from Tuesday, 16th March at 10am (local time) to Monday, 22nd March at 8pm (local time).
The Charge Up! research quest consists of four steps, with rewards for each individual challenge and overall quest step. If you want to earn all of these rewards, you need to ensure you complete the Charge Up! research quest before the end of the event itself, because, like all timed research, the questline will vanish alongside the event.
Have fun catching electric-type Pokémon!
